The following articles have been repeated verbatim from our discussion page and the ND Supreme Court News: UND LAW SCHOOL CORRUPTIONFrom: A BED BUG CommentsI heard from the A.G.'S OFFICE that the UND Law school was going through accreditation but in June 2000 the site team report from the American Bar Association said that it DID NOT PASS as Jeremy Davis was both the Dean of the Law school and the UND School Council. Sooooo, they quickly made Julie Evans the UND legal council on July 1st(and I heard are giving her 25K extra for whispering in the president's ear). My question is WHEN WAS THE SEARCH FOR THIS POSITION DONE??? WHAT ARE JULIE EVAN'S QUALIFICATIONS? As far as I know she has never actually PRACTICED Law and in fact came to UND a substitute teacher who could not keep a job. She went to UND Law school and immediately was APPOINTED as the assistant Dean of the Law School. What I want to know is WHO IS JULIE EVANS IN BED WITH AND HOW MUCH MONEY DOES SHE MAKE FOR WHAT SHE DOES? Does she get more than the $78,000 base salary UND pays Associate Dean Judy DEMERS R.N.? The news release on the supreme court's web is obviously an influence exerted by a former judge for whome Julie served as a clerk in the ND supreme court . It is undeserving to use the supreme court's web for releasing such news which is unrelated to court's events ; as if they have nothing else more relevant and important to report . The UND President's appointments of Julie for " general counsel " and Charles Evans ( are they related ? ) for Associate Councel are further compounded by his announcement that Julie is " to serve in advisory role to the President " . This is NO good news for JUSTICE at UND . My advise to the administration is to immediately revoke the appointment , and also the Assistant Deanship of julie for which she had no prior experience , before the image of our President gets tarnished beyond shine . Remember the President's speech of last month to the faculty, in which he declared his intention to make UND one of the best universities in the midwest . Well, this is going in the wrong direction and it is bound to cause a loss of confidence among students , staff and faculty . The appointment of Julie betrayed our trust for fair hearings at UND grievances and pursuing faculty roles and regulations without twisting them and initiating illegal interventions and threats by her , as proven in the past . How much is her salary Mr. President ? Does she deserve additional 25K ? . I strongly agree with the previously voiced opinion that UND should release , on the UND web , all resumes of top administrators in a gesture of good faith to calm anxiety . Just don't forget another Judy , DeMers , of the med school to consider too . She was divorced from the Chemistry Professor Erjavec , persumably because of adulltry ( our Dean and a former Judge ). Now you get the rest of the story as why she got the job while lacking qualification . Let us sing ::::: " IT MUST BE LOVE " . The Evans woman does not teach ( check our Web on nodak.edu/law/web/academic/fallshed.html ) wher is no showing for any teaching activity for her . Furthermore , view this on our law Web too , Julie is not shown as a faculty but as a STAFF !!! . It gets more exciting , Julie who doesn't hold academic rank is shown on our web as the assistant Dean . Let us sing again ' it must be love " . To our President : you were ill advised and her appointment as a " general councel " should be revoked . Sir , remember how the former President went to fame and glory by similar actions . It seems that the UND "never settle you may set a precident" rule leads to UND having many enemies and will lead to the ultimate downfall of UND. From: A Law School Employee CommentsYes Sir / Madam , Julie lusts, boogies and indulges in illegalities and improprieties , through her function as legal counsel for the university , to please various administrators against their constituents..--- One more thing , the President's announcement about Julie was made twice in August ( on the 25th & 28th) but the appointment was retroactive to July 1/ 2000 . My conscious is killing me for some time .My coworkersa agrred thatI should disclose these things . The newly appointed General Counsel is an insult to all of us at UND. I have witnessed these atrocities by law school Dean Davies and his Assistant Dean, now the UND General Counsel . ( 1 ) Withholding of evidence : Removal of material from personnel files of certain faculty undergoing grievances to UND committes were done before the files were released to them for review . ( 2 ) Conspiracy : Julie conspired on few occasions with members of UND grievance committees against the grieving faculty by instructing them how to pose certain questions during faculty hearings and which requests to accept or reject . ( 3 ) Julie also violated UND faculty bylaws by drafting and writing the conclusions for UND grievance committees against faculty ; which should have been drafted and written in final form by the committees' members who signed off on these decisions against the faculty before giving them to the President for consideration . ( 4 ) Obstruction of justice on Campus ; A campus police ( which is not a City police ) investigation was stopped by julie for no legal reason and the documents were withheld . Grad CommentsMs. Evans, the UND General Counsel , Assistant Dean of law school and the former legal counsel for UND , has prejudiced herself in Federal Court in Fargo, Nd , with honorable judge Goldberg presiding , few years ago .She was a UND witness against UNd professor Rakow . Ms. Evans stated under oath that she will be teaching next , ironicaly , a course on " Ethics " which was then and now not true . 1st ) Ms. Evans , on the UND law web , is not a faculty , she never taught a single course in her life . 2nd ) Evans is shown on the law school's web as a staff , and staff are not teaching faculty . 3rd ) This is a stinker and Evans must be dealt with soon by the Feds .

I don't think so. Both the DeMers and Evans appointments look like a way for UND to artificially show females hold high positions at UND. Never mind that both of these women lack the appropriate qualifications necessary to effectively do their jobs. CITIZEN NAMED "DORIS" CommentsWhile Doris was being battered by her husband she managed to woo all of us (who are that old) with her cheery demeanor and her sweet songs. Honest hardworking UND professors have been battered for too long. Enough with the "North Dakota Nice" attitude that to the criminal mind says "SUCKER". Epstein is on his way out as well as Knull. Wagner (from Maryland) after a "desk audit" lost all funding for the UND summer REU program and has been caught as well. He is just not smart enough to leave. Epstein, from NYC is no dumb cookie. He knows what is about to happen with the Federal audit. DeMers' case now being made public has caused her not to run for office for "personal reasons." McKecknie is up against the disciplinary board on charges. The UND Law school has yet to pass accreditation from the National Bar Association. The closed meeting is scheduled for October of 2000. We have a month to influence the decision that is made. So it is not all que sera sera-let your heart be hopeful. Evans named UND General Counsel
University of North Dakota President Charles Kupchella has announced the appointment of Julie Ann Evans to the position of General Counsel for the University, as of July 1,2000. W. Jeremy Davis, Dean of the School of Law and formerly the University's General Counsel, will serve in an advisory role to the President, Kupchella said. Julie Evans' office will be relocated to 104 O'Kelly Hall. As the Office of General Counsel is restructured, Charles Evans will assume the role of Associate General Counsel. Julie Evans, a 1989 U.N.D. Law School graduate, served as a law clerk to North Dakota Supreme Court Justice Herbert Meschke. She has served as Assistant Dean of the law school.
