This points up the level of incompetence of the UND administration. They make higher enrollments a priority, by virtually admitting all students who apply, and proudly announce the increase, believing that all will but into the notion that quantity=quality. Yet they have done nothing to increase the instructional resources side. So what do they do? They tell departments to get along as best they can. The departments then hire temporary people off the street and more teaching assistants. The administration loves that since they get paid next to nothing in salary and aren't eligible for benefits. The irony is that at the same time students are paying more tuition, all they're getting to teach them is a warm body.
This means poorer education as you stick more students into classes, or force them to go more years because you cannot get into full classes.
