Students at UND “are pretty much the same since our campus is not diverse racially or politically. We all get along fine—like-minded people attract and work together. That’s how life works anywhere.” The homogeneity, according to some, creates “a small-town feeling that makes the campus a very friendly, comfortable environment. Most everyone here is very friendly.” Agrees one undergrad, “It’s freaky how nice people are in North Dakota—it just doesn’t seem natural to many people that complete strangers wish them a great day and say ‘hi’ in passing. I have definitely had a positive experience at UND.” Students hail primarily from North Dakota and Minnesota.
